Concept
This game is a strategic 4 player board game, based around trying to beat your opponents in a competitive race to invade their cities with spies. Its movement is based around the straight forward but surprisingly complex style of movement found in Chinese checkers but with a personalized twist.
We wanted to make a game with very simplistic with an easily understandable list of actions and rules, while still retaining an objective that made sense in the moment to moment gameplay. What really makes this game interesting is that, much like chess, the oponents decisions and ever changing board state open up all sorts of opportunities for strategy. This means that having skilled players drastically changes how long the game takes and increases the number of complicated plays that can happen in a game.

I was also the project lead responsible for task distribution and time management.

*While the game had very simple mechanics, depending on interactions with the other players and proper planing we could create complicated interactions with enemy and ally pieces alike and in some cases create impromptu player cooperation for the sake of stopping one player or another from winning.*
Limitations: This game was a class project which was limited to only using the "Piece Pack Game Series'" board and respective pieces to derive a game of our own from in teh span of 2 weeks. My team consisted of only 3 people. Issues we ran into while designing the game included: setting limits on mobility and permanent lockout techniques that felt unfair and more importantly un-fun. Both of which were fixed using some simple game rule additions, of which we balanced for player enjoyment and to meet time limitations for the gameplay set by our instructor. The gameplay time limit at 1 hour was originally not an issue for the rough draft version of the game. However, with the addition of the corrective rules, we ended up getting dangerously close to the deadline and if played in more defensive style, would likely have exceed the time limit in numerous cases.
